Re: “UPDATE: 'We will never fully know' why term limits passed, says county commissioner

I wonder why the salary for the commissioners is almost $90,000/year when they are supposedly temporary employees. And do they and their families have all of their dental bills covered-along with complete vision coverage? Again why all the goodies for "temporary" employees? Who sets the salary scale? I can think of a better use for some of that money.

According to an earlier article, the county attorney and two commissioners worked on the wording of the ballot issue. I don't know Mr. Hisey's background but Amy Lathen has a degree in education and I am sure that both she and the county attorney know a lot about trick questions. It was a trick question. That is why the issue passed. We were duped.

Re: “Republican waltz

I thought it did not appear in the Blue Book because it was added too late. Deliberately. Best to keep the voters uninformed if you are planning to pull a fast one.

Re: “Wording is everything on this ballot

What a nice raise! No wonder they do whatever it takes to stay on the payroll.

Re: “Wording is everything on this ballot

The economy is bad so Lathan and Hisey did what they had to do to ensure that they dod not have to look for another job. Where else can you get such great medical, dental, and vision coverage plus a salary of $70,000 for a part-time job? "Manipulative and devious" and self-serving describes them perfectly

Re: “Longer term limits? Really?

Wow! The economy is bad so the commissioners decide to feather their nest. The salary ($75,000) is good and the perks are good, with dental, medical, and vision coverage. Way to go! Maybe in another 4 years they will pull another switch on the term limits if the economy is still bad. Our elected officials are certainly looking out for their welfare.
