Re: “Downtown envy, abortion rights, the modern GOP, and more

Poor Mick, so convinced that you have some inherent "right" to be "left alone" in a public forum.

I guess that's why you also feel you can stake claim to others property and largesse, or does your support of Colonel Sanders suggest something else?

"I wish I could give you more than one like" - Obviously, you'd "redistribute" "Likes" to all as you seek to make things "fair" and "equal". Nice underscoring of intentions, LOL!!!

Now, in some perverted way, you'll act offended and victimized and somehow lay claim to a non-existent intellectual and moral superiority, acting as if Vermont is free from any dissention of ideas and rhetorical strife; a truly regressive utopia, LOL!!!

Such immaturity is amusing, but does nothing to foster dialogue between those who may disagree with you; again, my condolences, and may you find something substantive, tangible and rational to cling to once the "Bernie!" fad is a faded, dusty memory...

Re: “Downtown envy, abortion rights, the modern GOP, and more

Rocky, you obviously have no method/s to explain your latent hypocrisy (surprise!), so your sole recourse is to suggest I'm somehow making a non-existent point.

Sad in the extreme, and I'm not sure I can lower my expectations further, so let's just agree you took another verbal beating here again. I mean, why deny the obvious?

Re: “Downtown envy, abortion rights, the modern GOP, and more

"Mick", I'm sure you'd love to participate in forums where you aren't challenged and have rhetorical impunity--it speaks to the Socialism you evidently support--but these are open dialogues where ideas, concepts; and yes, candidates and their backers, can be scrutinized and even ridiculed, and trying to stifle dissent from nay-sayers further underscores just how closed-minded you are, my condolences...

Re: “Downtown envy, abortion rights, the modern GOP, and more

Hey Rocky, then what does it mean when a contributor calls themself a nick-name, like "Lil Mick" did here?

And why is it okay for them to employ a tired, trite phrase such as "Feel the Bern", yet I can't do the same?

Thank you for today's regressive, hypocritical double-standard; no wonder people don't take you seriously, LOL!

Re: “Downtown envy, abortion rights, the modern GOP, and more

Lil Mick, you're obviously just another "Bern-victim" who thinks that utopian fantasy is a reasonable substitute for fiducial reality, personal responsiblity and self-sufficiency instead of Big Gov mandates and dictates.

The flame is "Berning-out" and will soon be snuffed by the Hildebeast prior engaging in battle with Dizzy Donald, and although I admire the spirit exhibited by those courting "change", the way/s it would supposedly manifest itself are far too ridiculous to consider.

Re: “Broadmoor land swap, Koch brothers and Focus on the family, public voices unheard, and more

"the NRA has been controlling the studies by the CDC and the way statics are kept by law enforcement"

If so, explain how they've infiltrated these organizations to such an extent and why even allow opposition to their diabolical schemes.

After all, if they're so omnipotently powerful, they could control liberal legislature, the MSM, and grass-roots anti-gun groups, correct?

Thanks for the conspiratorial gibberish, it made my day, LOL!

Re: “Broadmoor land swap, Koch brothers and Focus on the family, public voices unheard, and more

Mr. Cogley, mass shootings have been researched for years:

https://library.stanford.edu/projects/mass-shootings-america

http://journalistsresource.org/studies/government/criminal-justice/mass-murder-shooting-sprees-and-rampage-violence-research-roundup

https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/office-of-partner-engagement/active-shooter-incidents/a-study-of-active-shooter-incidents-in-the-u.s.-2000-2013

While some data is skewed and "agenda-driven"--by those on both sides of the matter-- one overarching, undeniable fact must be considered (from the last link):

"FBI statistics show that levels of violent crime in the United States, including murder, have steadily declined since 1991...“[W]hile tragic and shocking,” the report notes, “public mass shootings account for few of the murders or non-negligent homicides related to firearms that occur annually in the United States.” For more on these dynamics, see the May 2013 Pew Research Center report titled “Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware.”

Firearm violence is way, WAY down, so don't believe the hype and nonsense peddled by regressive organizations such as "Everytown for Gun Safety" who mindlessly push for more "unnecessary/dividing/stupid (choose one) gun-control measures".
