Re: “Paravicini's Italian Bistro

The owner has been rude to me too many times. Although the food is decent, I don't feel welcome and the owner and staff are beyond abrasive.

Re: “Good Neighbors Meeting House follows in Wild Goose’s path, but needs refining

Just for clarification, Good Neighbors is situated and building community in the heart of the Patty Jewett neighborhood.

Re: “Nearly $73,000 in dark money flows into Colorado Springs city election

Our most powerful developers, most notably Nor'wood Development, who owns Banning Lewis Ranch and much of the land in our downtown, will spend whatever it takes to buy the city council they need to put more of their development costs on the backs of our taxpayers and get an appointed utilities board that is NOT answerable to the ratepayers. This is an important election, please vote for candidates who will listen to you and are not answerable to developers and the Broadmoor.

Re: “Bad reflection on our city

Fortunately, voters win elections, not special interest groups. I won my council seat four years ago without their endorsement, and I will do everything I can to win again next April.

Re: “Personhood USA announces launch of local abortion ban initiative

Ms Mason has every right to enforce her beliefs on herself, but she and her group's rights end at trying to enforce their beliefs on me and my body. My body is mine alone, and only I make decisions for it. Period. If this group wants to ban abortion, so be it. But women will continue to control their own bodies, albeit, with hangers, drugs, and other unsafe methods.

Because tyranny and oppression will never triumph over the human spirit's demand for liberty.

Way to go, Lindsey. I have so much respect for your ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit. All while you raise your family on local and healthy food.

Re: “Councilor pushes for more urban agriculture

Curious--it's easy to throw out pejoratives and purposeful inaccuracies while remaining anonymous. Everyone knows that. If you have the courage to contact me directly, I would be more than happy to discuss with you how other cities are encouraging food sustainability through policy and not incentives or, as some like to say, picking winners and losers. It's all about community-- and trying to work strategically and collaboratively to ensure our city is prepared for any disaster or food storage, while also ensuring our low-income citizens have access to healthy food--which we know reduces healthcare costs. I encourage you to learn more. I hope to hear from you, and I'm so glad you support private property rights that include goat ownership!

Re: “Mayor Steve Bach submits a 2014 budget that gives and takes away

There is $200,000 in requested funding for City for Champions in the Mayor's budget. It is funding that was requested by Council, from the Lodgers & Automobile Rental Tax (LART), to the Colorado Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau.
