Re: “Monument rehab project stirs debate

"The property at issue is owned by a limited liability company, which gives an address in San Juan Capistrano, California, which purchased the property on Aug. 9 for $4 million, assessor records show."

The address for FHAM, the LLC who purchased the property, is:
30950 Rancho Viejo Rd, #225
San Juan Capistrano, CA

Guess what the address for Sunshine Behavioral Health is?

0950 Rancho Viejo Road
30950 Ranch Viejo Rd, #225
San Juan Capistrano, California

What? Is this saying that the LLC of the new property owner is the same as the company that's opening services there?

Re: “Fort Carson announces Stryker force, addition of 200 soldiers

Rep. Doug Lamborn:

"I am very excited about the conversion of Ft. Carson's existing Infantry Brigade Combat Team to a Stryker Brigade Combat Team. This move helps solidify Ft. Carson's important role in our national defense. A Stryker Brigade is a full spectrum combat force that combines the lethality and survivability needed to succeed in a high-end fight with the rapid mobility required to immediately respond to threats anywhere in the world."

"War" is big business... I'm glad they're there to protect me from....wait, who?

I wonder how many people went and humped the flag when they read this story?

Re: “Colorado Republicans mock sexual assault charges against Kavanaugh

"Sandridge touts his experience as a "clinical psychotherapist working with many teenagers and adults with major depression disorder and suicidal ideations."

Oh wonderful, a therapist that ridicules a probable victim of sexual assault - what if one of his female patients accused someone of the same thing? Oh, I the Republican mindset women tempt men, or perhaps she's the jilted lover of a noble, hard-working upper-class white male.

Re: “House passes two bills for Colorado parks and public lands

It's a good start...I guess. LWCF should be permanently-funded, and this should've taken place years ago.

The National Parks alone are some 12.5 billion in behind in repairs and upkeep. So now we'll need another under-funded bill in 10 years after falling even further behind? This is merely another half measure on the part of Congress.

It's even less impressive when you consider that 1.3 billion per year has to be shared with BLM and BIE.

How much freakin' money - courtesy of the US taxpayer - will go into the Air Force's new B-21 bomber? Something like 100 billion dollars? How 'bout the F-35 stealth fighter? The whole program for this weapon of mass destruction is on course to cost 1.4 trillion dollars...great.

In the mean time, our national parks are still waiting for the 12.5 billion dollars cut from its budget by a Republican-dominated Congress - over and over again.

Re: “Traffic deaths closer to record, new Utilities chief, EPA loosens methane rules, and more news for the record

"The Community Health Partnership released its annual report on homelessness in the Pikes Peak region. Among its key findings: Most unsheltered people were last stably housed in El Paso County, contradicting the anecdote that most move to Colorado Springs "to take advantage of generous services or legal marijuana."

It's good that folks can no longer seriously suggest that the success of Amendment 64 is the reason for the sheer number of homeless in CS. Of course, anti-Cannabis activists will try and spin it some way.

"The Environmental Protection Agency's proposal to loosen requirements on methane emissions won't affect Colorado directly, as the state has its own, stricter set of rules for oil and gas producers, the Colorado Independent reports. But the change could increase cross-border pollution from other states. "

Welcome to the Neo Liberal orgasm - the weakening of environmental regulations. Trump's watering down of the EPA will end up trickling & drifting into Colorado...ugg.

Thank goodness Coloradans have stricter regulations in place. Just another reason to vote "Yes" on prop 112 in November.

Re: “Users worry about safety on urban trails, but police say most violence is among homeless

Many of the comments are based on a largely white person's paranoia fed by the corporate media. Violent crime is down substantially in the US since mid-1990s, and that includes CS. There may be local spikes (2017 here for example) but overall crime is down despite what the ignorant profess.

I don't think violence from the homeless is a real concern, white middle/upper class paranoia not withstanding.

"I don't care how "safe" the trails are if we have to smell cigarette and pot smoke for most of our 30 mile rides." Oh that's BS...I want to know what 30 mile ride your talking about where you smell pot smoke and cigarette smoke most of your ride. What, are you riding around some loop 20 times?

Re: “Release of autopsy reports concludes official releases in Deputy Micah Flick shooting

Thanks to CS Indy for investigating and staying on this so the citizens of the Springs could be informed about this FUBAR of a situation.

This was a case - sadly - of under trained officers led by derelict supervisors.
