It's a pretty good jump from the Music Street Tavern, which is where Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm played when they were first featured in these pages back in January, to CC's Armstrong Hall (14 E. Cache la Poudre St., amusiccompanyinc.com), which is where they'll be performing at 8 tonight. That kind of exponential growth should get them to Madison Square Garden by year's end. But the main draw here, really, is Robert "Wolfman" Belfour, who was mentored by Cedric's granddaddy RL Burnside, who was tight with T-Model Ford, who played here last Friday. (It's a small world, or maybe it's just that Mississippi is a small state.) Tickets are $12 to $45 for the Jook Joint Thunderclap, with our own wayward son John-Alex Mason rounding out the bill. — Bill Forman
