Re: “The golden years

I am sure that my comments got some people fired up and say what you will but this happens everywhere all the time. My point was only to point out that this is the norm now-a-days. I have seen this happen within the military many times. Meaning I have physically been in the room when it has happened. So the example was easiest to spot in that text for me.
As part of what should or shouldn't be available for a Military person who retires is another subject all together and has nothing to do with this particular article.

"Congratulations to Pam Zubeck for a fantastic article. This kind of nonsense (It's called pension spiking) has been going on for years, both here in Colorado Springs, as well as thruout the state. This reflects directly back onto the city council and the mayor. They are the board of directors for the Utilities department and they allowed this crap to happen. It really is time to fire this shameless city council." pokey 1 oct 09

This statement is the real truth about this issue, nothing more or less really needs to be said.

As far as flyboy85583, I did serve and gave more than anyone will ever know.

Re: “The golden years

This is something that has been happening all over...Not just Colorado Springs Utilities. Same damn thing happens when military retirees, they retire with 25 or 30 years and know everyone at base. They just slip right into a civil service job on post and start making money again. When there are so many people out there that don't get a retirement and need jobs, these jerks are taking our jobs.
As for the Utilities, I hate temp agencies and think its a crappy way for a company to not have any responsibility to an employee. There is no gap that needs to be filled, they just need to promote the people from within and then hire new people to come in at entry level.

Re: “200 deaths here?

Q. Will private providers be able to charge patients for vaccine administration if they are uninsured?
A. Yes, providers may charge patients if they are uninsured. The administration fee cannot exceed the regional Medicare vaccine administration fee.

Q. Can persons be charged for vaccine administration in public health-organized large scale vaccination clinics?
A. There will be no administration fee for vaccination in public-health organized large scale vaccination clinics.…

So just like with the flu Vac anyone else will charge for it and whether insured or uninsured, one way or another you will pay for it.

Re: “200 deaths here?

Why does this feel like the normal scare people into paying for the vaccine that really doesn't work to keep you from getting a virus? How much money will the drug companies make off of another panic for a vaccine? For 10 years or more while in the military, I would get the Flu Vac and no matter what I got sick. For the last 5 years I have not got the flu Vac and I haven't got sick even once with the flu or anything like it. So you tell me, more propaganda or are we really in for it? 200 people in Colorado Springs, Really? mmmmmm
