Re: “Indy's 2019 city election endorsements

Mayor John Suthers: Strong COS Prosecutor' CO State Attorney General' 1st Term Strong COS Mayor'
Now " The Pillsbury Dough Boy ? "
During the last week I have the opportunity to read papers, watch video posts, Facebook live feeds and read every article as well as every editorial feedback related to " Restore our Roads + A SaferCC." I also just finished watching the candidate forum from Saturday, March 3rd: I was interested in seeing how far Mayor John Suthers had drifted from his moral compass since a speaking engagement he had done in July 2009 for our hp(Hewlett/Packard-once a test and measurement company) Legacy Alumni Club while he was our CO State Attorney General. While speaking we could tell he was a man of strong moral conviction. He also promoted a book he had recently finished: "No Higher Calling, No Greater Responsibility: A Prosecutor Makes His Case" (Fulcrum Publishing, 2008). In fact, he was such a proud man of strong convictions several of our club members did purchase his book. I am convinced the man speaking at the recent forum is not the man who came to our club almost 10 years ago. Perhaps he had to shape shift himself to be all things to all people. He is not the person who was our COS Prosecutor at the local level , where he tried cases ranging from drunken driving to first degree murder and from shoplifting to securities fraud. We as members of our club were proud to support him in his bid for our Strong Mayor and eventually in his runoff election with Mayor Mary Lou Makepeace in a runoff election by a 68% to 32% margin. Perhaps in politics that is what happens to people when they have to walk both sides of the fence. One thing I am certain of: If Mayor John Suthers does not get his "mojo" back, we , the city of Colorado Springs will suffer the same fate as Washington DC. The facts presented & supporting " Restore our Roads & A SaferCC " have been dissected and documented to the nth degree of mi-'nu-'ti-'ae. WE AS CITIZENS OF COLORADO SPRINGS, HELPED GET YOU ELECTED. WE CAN ALSO HELP DEFEAT YOU IN YOUR RE-ELECTION BID! Time to pull up your pants, tighten your suspenders and make some Big-Boy decisions!
