Re: “Staple jam

Small correction. Sorry, I forgot the K in the above reply...$100K-$150K/ year...$120K/year.

Re: “Staple jam

Wow. Lots of confusion out there I think. First, I was beat to the task of mentioning the 4 kids, when we started down this path with only 1 kid. Anybody ever heard of abstinence? If you find yourself in a hole, the very first thing you should do is stop digging!!! Yes, I think it is worth mentioning in this case, before they have 8 kids! Also, thanks for mentioning the tatoo's. How about cigarette's. I'll bet they can manage to afford them, but now I'm stereotyping, sorry. No, I'm not young. Just being practical. The problem started when these two "adults" were kids. But hey, everyones answer to that is Focus on your own *#*%) Family, right! Well, thats what I am TRYING to do, but you want to raise MY taxes so you can better take care of everyone else's family!? Maybe DHS should pull some people out of welfare and give them a job if they are short staffed. They are already getting the money! Now they could work for it. I know, $11 per hour is not enough to justify the child daycare, back to point #1 above! So, why only raise taxes 1 percent. Lets go for the gusto, raise it 10 percent. No one in government office will be happy until they make $20-$30 per hour! Even if the paper pushing job they are performing only commands a $10 per hour salary. How much does your State Rep make, $100-$150 per year? How much does the director of DHS make, $120/yr? Sorry, for the rabbit trail...Why dont we focus on the problem as stated by someone earlier. Not enough money in an over burdened system. Ok. What is the problem, overburdend? 1; Drop all of the Illegal immigrants who are currently receiving welfare! Yes, I care, load them all on a caravan of buses and drive them back to Mexico City and drop them off at the source of that problem! 2; Demand an honest days work for a days pay out of government employees! We have all sat at the lines at the Motor Vehicle watching as the employees there "hurried around diligently" at the task of helping the people who actually make their paycheck a necessity, much less who foot the bill! In the private sector we call these people customers, but why should we expect "customer service" from government workers! 3; not enough money!? When people continue to depend on welfare and the government to take care of them after 10 years of pretending to look for a GOOD job and continuing to add to the population of their household, they are ABUSING the system! Drop them! Why should I, or any other taxpayer be required to support the bad judgement and irresposibility of someone else. I've been on food stamps once before. What a nightmare, for about 6 months. But after hard work and dedication to taking the utmost care of my family I manage to support them just fine on my own! Stop relying on the government to do what you should be looking in the mirror for the solution to!!!
