Re: “Star treatment

I've reread the article and I don't think people are perceiving or misinterepting anything incorrectly. It says the info was obtained from actual court records, personnel records and IA records. It also appears that there's more than just a few disgruntled employees. It's obvious that "friends" of Maketa don't want their gravy train to end and neither does Maketa. How is it that Huntz got a 6% raise when it was reported that employees were getting 3-3.5%?? Don't you just love that Maketa can reward his "friends who work their butt off" with public funds right after he's crying that they have no money?? The public should stand up and demand no more lies.

To "karma" - good for you that you are finally standing up for what's right. I would suggest you start keeping VERY GOOD records of any/all conversations and incidents and create a file to share with the public.

Re: “Star treatment

It's about time someone steps up and exposes the dishonesty and unsafe conditions that Maketa is responsible for. Let's all take this to the streets and allow the citizens of this city/county to make informed decisions about who we want running the sheriff's office. Allowing this woman to be a dispatch supervisor is a disgrace to the office and to her co-workers not to mention putting our deputies at risk with her stupid games on the radio. I feel sorry for the dispatchers that have to work with her. I cannot even begin to comprehend how allowing a mentally unstable employee who had a standoff with a weapon against law enforcement is good for the safety or morale of the deputies who are risking their lives every day. Allowing a sgt. who has been charged with DV to continue to work with his spouse is absolutely insane. It's must be great to be a part of the good ole buddy network or be a female without morals.

We need to put the meaning of the badge back into the sheriff's office and this can only be done by taking the trash out! The only way to fix this is to elect someone who values what the badge stands for. Get involved in Jake Shirk's campaign and let your voices be heard! A change needs to come and the people have the power to make it happen!
