Re: “Springs faces uphill slog in the EPA lawsuit alleging stormwater system neglect

To answer the question, the "CITY' is OWNED by developers through campaign finance and other means of unscrupulous influence. It is soooo obvious that it hurts.... Meanwhile, the city continues to allow shoddy work to be done on stormwater projects under their scrutiny.

Re: “Protect the parks, cover the arts, cut the exhaust, and more

The part of this discourse that is most important to me, is the reality that we seem to have a partisan clerk and recorder, Chuck Broerman, who happens to be deeply entrenched in the same doctrine that was being promoted by Fox News on ALL (7 I believe) monitors in the citizens center waiting area. This is where all citizens of El Paso County MUST go to get licensing for Motor Vehicle, Driver's License, Recording, Marriage/Civil Union Licenses, and ELECTION SERVICES!!!

Further more, and I quote: “The primary purpose of our office is to serve the citizens of El Paso County and ensure their democratic right to vote is unencumbered,” said Clerk and Recorder Chuck Broerman." This is directly from the County website.

If this fact troubles anyone else, please be sure to contact Mr. Broerman; or better yet one of your County Commissioners, The Colorado Attorney General, or anyone else on the list who should be accountable and aware.... Here is the link for contact and background info on all of our elected officials:

Re: “Protect the parks, cover the arts, cut the exhaust, and more

So..... My complaint is not about WHICH political propaganda was being fed to citizens from El Paso County Citizen's Center, it is THAT political propaganda was being fed... If it is "stupid" to expect that our governmental agencies abide by the Constitutional Protections that our country is based upon, call me "stupid"... I prefer "stubborn and unafraid to speak up".... Is it so difficult to understand that a public service agency should not promote ANY political agendas? That our form of government (by Constitutional definition) expressly prohibits such behavior? Would "Staci in Woodland Park" feel the same if it was MSNBC, CNN or Al Jazeera that was playing at the DMV? I would....

Re: “Protect the parks, cover the arts, cut the exhaust, and more

I simply believe that the imbalance of "power" in our community is not an acceptable status quo. Actually, without citizens accepting the responsibility of questioning such practices, our "liberties" will totally vanish. I'm not a fan of being sheep that passively take whatever the elected "powers" wish to dish out. There are certain things that elected officials and their spawn have the authority to control, and others that they do not... Breaking the law by feeding the electorate one-sided propaganda from a poling place is not one of those things that they have the authority to do. These are the laws of the land which are based upon The Constitution and for the protection of ALL, not just the self professed ruling class.

Re: “Save Cheyenne threatens to sue city over land swap

This situation exposes the immense arrogance of the "strong mayor" leadership team of this city. They absolutely DO NOT see the citizens as their customers. This smacks of a gang of thugs who think that city government is a private club that should be theirs to use in lining their pockets and that of their cronies. This is a very dangerous precedent for our public lands. Hurray for the brave, volunteers who have dedicated themselves to exposing and fighting this tyranny...

Re: “Accentuating the positive

Passionate people can accomplish much! Choose the candidate that is passionate about the right things, not just their own cronies' financial/power interests and we all can win..... Look at what the PPCF, TOSC, and others have been able to preserve!
