As a physician I have two questions: What is the legal status of these people? They are obviously living off the dole in the first place and believe they have a right to milk the system for all it's worth when they can't find a relative nor friend anywhere who can understand the English language. They knew translators were available and, at no time, did they ask for one. They just fell back on the old "entitlement" excuse. Second, if the child had a normal kidney removed, why is she in renal failure with her other kidney still intact? She may not have needed the surgery, but that doesn't mean she would not have wound up in kidney failure.

Are we going to have consents in Japanese? Chinese? Italian? German? French? Samoan? We must put a stop to this.

I'm tired of people like this abusing our system and lawyers walking away with the big bucks. I suspect the one in this case creamed off close to $500 grand after his cut and his costs.
