Re: “Region must be proactive on transportation, and here's how to do it

Gee wiz. "like solving obesity with a bigger set of pants". We need to stop the backwards thinking of the well-intentioned older generation which refuses to consider the innovations of the newer age. Wasting millions of dollars on an infrastructure which is already outdated- bad, bad idea, but the norm for COS. How about a common sense idea like a light-rail? How about actually moving towards an awesome solution to the problem? How about recognizing Denver and the region as one of the fastest growing areas of the country, and moving to address the issue like a modern city would? Gee wiz the leadership and influence of this area are simply as backwards as can be.

Re: “Roger Stone says the war on drugs is a failure

Great reading in a column I normally just glance at. Roger Stone saying the Syrian Gas Attack could have been a false flag? Awesome- I hope to see more articles like this from the Indy

Re: “Olympic Museum and ... what else in southwest downtown?

What a mess. I don't think the Olympic Museum is a good idea and I am willing to wager it won't draw many visitors. I think this whole City of Chumps debacle should be scrapped and, in it's place, invite actual community dialogue. Personally, if we are stuck on building a museum, then we should start with a children's science museum, including the influence Tesla, who lived in COS and has an awesome history here. But that's just my opinion, among the other opinions of all the thousands of people who live in the area. Why has this project come in so fast? Routons' article highlights that all contingencies are planned for- when was the public ever even consulted? What a mess

Re: “FoodMaven could do more harm than good in the fight against food waste

For years I managed a small and local Colorado organic farm on the Western Slope. Afterwards I spent years in the corporate world working with the states largest and most influential farmers. I can say, across the board, farming is one of the hardest jobs to do. Mike Callicrate gives a dang good assessment of the Food Maven situation.

I absolutely see how Food Maven's model simply encourages super-markets to continue ordering too much food, and simply allows them to sell it for a profit to restaurants and other businesses which should otherwise be ordering from a smaller and local farm. All under the guise of environmental responsibility.

Thanks Mike for a good read and another perspective on this discussion.

Re: “Can FoodMaven fix the food industry's huge waste problem?

Is there nothing rich and privileged kids from CC can't do? All this philanthropy - thank goodness these charitable givers are investing in the right people- rich white CC kids. Great for our local community

Re: “One last shot at a downtown stadium

Rolf-

Naysayers? Naysayers to what- a bad idea? You bet. It's not that we "don't dream big", it's simply that this is a bad idea. It's a good article and I like reading the column- but my opinion is that it's a bad idea. A lot of people share this opinion.

I have an opinion of what we should do with the downtown area. My opinion is wonderful. Other people have opinions too, I doubt many are as good as mine but I'm sure it'd be a scale.

I'd love to hear other people's opinions on what to do with the downtown area. Actually, some might be better than mine! We've never had the opportunity to discuss this matter, as a city public to the public servants who represent us. The city dropped this proposal, somehow secured funding and got a few rubber stamps, and now what? Where's the money and what are we going to do with it? How many firms did we hire for design and price analysis- for what? This is all wasted money, to a bad idea. If there is money around for some project, get the public in now. Get a comprehensive input to make a unique project for our city.

Or- divert the money to get clean water for residents in our south-end.
