Lantern festivals are celebrated throughout the world — most notably in China at the end of the country's Lunar New Year celebration— but you don't have to travel far to take part in the festivities. Tonight's Lantern Glow honors worldwide lantern festival traditions, with a uniquely Colorado Springs twist. Enjoy live music by local bands, and bring the kids for glow-in-the-dark activities while you browse the booths of local artists and crafters. The celebration is in honor of our area's vibrant arts community, and it will culminate in the much-anticipated lantern launch at about 8:30 p.m. Environmentally minded folks don't have to worry. Volunteers and Pikes Peak International Raceway employees will clean up all the lanterns after the festival. 3 p.m., Pikes Peak International Raceway, 16650 Midway Ranch Road, $36-$50/ages 16 to adult, $5/child, free/ages 3 and younger, ppir.com, 382-7223. — Alissa Smith
