Re: “DAM good

Daniel Libeskind's Hamilton Wing is a great example of what NOT to do in a museum. By now, after udergoing the unnecessary expense of re-doing interiors to safeguard disabled persons from hitting their heads on Libeskind's low sloping ceilings, not to mention having to spend a small fortune to refit the galleries so that they could respect the art, I think we all know that Libeskind's vision was a triumph of self-interest and personal indulgence over the realities of designing around an art collection.

A common complaint (myself included) is the disorienting effect that many notice when walking around Libeskind's unsettling interiors. But worse, the accommodation of the artworks seemed more like an afterthought.

The Washington Post described Libeskind's other museum design fiasco in Toronto as "the most disastrous and perverse museum extension in living memory".

Maybe they had not visited the Hamilton Wing ....
