Re: “Letters

In reference to your article regarding CJC only supplying postcards to correspond with the 'outside' world, I recently spent 19 days incarcerated at CJC. I was not given one piece of fresh fruit the entire 19 days. And you know what the Dr. says, "an apple a day keeps one regular"...I wished! So not enough fiber to keep one regular, however enough money to have a contract with the Frito-Lay Company. Each day at lunch inmates were given .05 ounces of chips in a small eco-unfriendly Frito-Lay chip bag (that's not even 10 chips). Who has stock in Frito-Lay at the sherriff's office? Many inmates resorted to purchasing packets of Metamucil to be able to go. Granted in addition to being charged an astronomical price for Metamucil one would also have to pay to get it okayed through the CJC doc. Is this a conspiracy? Stocks in Metamucil, too. Something to think about.
