Re: “The tick and the time bomb

WOW! It sounds like my days, except my joints, lungs & heart have been attacked. I contracted Lyme in 1984 & thought I had the worst flu ever. I was not correctly diagnosed until 2004. In the interim, I developed masses on my thyroid, thymus & wrapped around my heart. After removal of those, my gallbladder had to be removed in an emergency surgery. Then both my thumbs needed to be reconstructed & I needed an artificial right knee. I had/have a myriad of other symptoms. After the highest positive Lyme test my doctor had ever seen, I was put on a variety of treatments. I started a protocol of receiving 4 antibiotic shots a week for 7 months. The test afterwards showed a lot of new Lyme. I have been told to just go out & enjoy a quality of life for, as my doc said, I am the "canary" in the mine. I want to reach out to others with whatever energy I have. Lyme has taken 25 years of my life & may even take my life; however, I am still here & still fighting & laughing & loving.
