Re: “21st Anniversary Celebration

I wish they would have mentioned that every single activity there aside from the tour had an additional cost. It took them 15 minutes to charge my card on their cell phones. It looked like the animals have a happy home, though.

Re: “Reader: I want to live where people respect each other and the environment

My kids pick up trash on our way to and from the park in our neighborhood off Circle Drive . We also volunteer to assist the homeless and shut-ins. I'm far more concerned with the apathy towards the homeless and families in poverty than in the problems homeless people cause. I've given free haircuts and food to the homeless and have only had one negative experience versus the many negative experiences I have had with rich people. I'm a 28 year old woman and have no need for a weapon. Maybe the writer should befriend a homeless person and use his writing skills to assist a homeless person in completing a resum. Having been homeless in the past, a helping hand was all it took to get me back on my feet.

Re: “Citizens gird to battle trash

I spent four hours cleaning along 21st and Cimmarron about three weeks ago near the Gold Hill Mesa development. I pulled all of the bags out of the trees and had it looking fairly clean. Today, it is worse than it was before I cleaned it. I am really grateful to the city for funding some projects to clean the land, but I wish that there were more, even if it meant higher taxes.

Re: “Coquette to open, Spice Island to close? More food news

I went to Spice Island Grill, and I had horrible service both times. The food wasn't great, either.

Re: “The twisted road from Amendment 2 to 'I do'

As a person who moved here from Iowa, I feel Colorado Springs has many wonderful attributes, but tolerance isn't one of them. It never ceases to surprise me that with the amount of diversity here, it doesn't seem to be reflected in the voices of voters or public officials. I hope that in ten years, Colorado Springs has come even further in advancing social equality.
