Re: “City budget: time to cry uncle

This is the time when I say the anti-tax, Libertarian and just plain cheap citizens of Colorado Springs are getting exactly what they cried out for. No government! Or almost no government. So--I am expecting to see the loudest of these anti-tax crusaders fulfilling their promise and getting out their comrades to do all the things that government no longer can. Clean public restrooms? You betcha! Plow and sand roads? Definitely! Clean up trash on streets and in parks? Only the beginning. A brigade of upright citizens, who are also uptight about contributing to the greater good because they just "don't trust government to spend their money right" should now take over and contribute volunteer man hours to get 'er done. Of course, I'd rather not have said citizens acting as vigilantes to replace missing police and firefighters, but it may come to that.

Re: “Seven Days to Live

Regarding the event for Monday, March 2nd, Li Wei is the person in all the photographs. He is known as the "Chinese Evel Knievel" and is a performance artist who documents said performances in photographs. He will show video and images of his projects, as well as perform for the audience. Don't miss it!

Re: “Class act

10 Minutes Max is always a mix, you've got seasoned pros mixed in with performers who just really need to flaunt their special talents. Not everyone in the show was in Jim's classes, as it seems to say in the article. Some of the performers (like my husband Patrick) have performed in years past and auditioned new works, some come from the new classes. I disagree with the previous reviewer, I think their new location is phenomenal. Besides being beautiful, it allows them to run more shows and host classes than in their old venue, all things which will help them survive in these tough economic times. The other thing that will help is if you go out and support this wonderful cultural gem, the MAT in Colorado Springs!
