Re: “It takes a village

I live at the Sunset Creek apt. . In the beginning of construction I was very sad to see a lot of the vegetation(Old beautiful breath taking luxurious trees) on the trail being destroyed. My husband & three boys used to cut across the field & walk the trail where the little abandon house once stood.I cried when I saw that the rabbits & critters could not get threw to the creek because of the orange net & 3ft deep tarp that prevented them to receive water & roam freely. It breaks my heart that this was not taken into consideration. When the complaint amongst the students & university were:

Saunkeah believes the university has lacked a unique identity and views the proposed University Village as a missed opportunity.

"University Village needs to look different than all of the suburban shopping malls that are in Colorado Springs," says Saunkeah.

Wow! When is the world going to Evolve to less extravagance & selfish wants. what could have been done w/ all that beautiful lush land was growth. How can young people today implement humanity threw shopping centers w/ bars & coffee shops? The children of our future should have learned to farm the land & use the harvest ( green houses) for the less fortunate. This way our younger generation would learn a multitude of things: Learning to live off the land, environmental issues(GREEN). To have the satisfaction of accomplishment & most of all giving.
Well it's to late to do these things now. The shopping center is there & @ least some people have jobs.
My point: Stop teaching selfishness, Greed & lack of how does this effect our environment.
