It appears that the moderator of this website is as short-sighted as the author of this article. There have been insightful, articulate, objective comments posted on this site that have not been posted, probably due to the same bias that the article represents. Shame on this publication. I will not waste any more time posting here, as I have already given it much more attention than it deserves.

I'm failing to make the connection as to how Mr. Hansen's "carrying around a Book of Mormon" has any relation to his competence as a teacher. If you are reporting allegations as serious as someone's ability to perform in their profession, you had better have relevant comments to back it up. To arbitrarily report a comment re: someone's religion in connection to performance in his profession is not only irresponsible, but raises serious issues of ethics and legality. If you want to criticize Dr. Hansen based on the comments of teenagers blowing off steam, at least do so on the basis of his teaching, and leave his religion out of it. Publishing that comment was unnecessary and irresponsible.
