Churrasco is not the Portuguese word for meat sweats, but if one’s only exposure to Brazilian food comes from Tucanos, that’s a forgivable mistake. This chain serves all-you-can-eat meats for $26.95 per person, presented on massive skewers by rotating servers, with a central salad and side bar for those who can’t live on pure protein.

Teriyaki beef tastes meaty, with mild sweet and savory notes from its saucing. Center-cut sirloin wrapped in bacon, served in two-bite cubes, hit expected notes. Spicy barbecue chicken pieces land skin-on and bone-in, crisp with a sauce that’s more spicy than sweet. Do not waver when they bring around the rich, dark, delicious chicken hearts, perhaps the best straight-up meat of the night. I’m a sucker for linguica, and theirs lands damn respectable, spicy and juicy.

And I’m surprised by both the Parmesan chicken and garlic Parmesan beef, both of which come juicy and surprisingly well-seasoned, garlic singing like a choir. Every meat’s quite good, as is the grilled pineapple.

Hell, my Caipirinha (Brazil’s national cocktail) ain’t half bad, even if the neon red cherry garnish throws me for a loop.
