Re: “The tick and the time bomb

Hi my name is Susan and I presently live in Colorado Springs, CO. I was living in PA when I got infected with lyme and borrelia, another tick borne disease. I went to several lyme literate doctors who tried several orals, but none would help. I was finally referred to Dr. Leslie Fein in NJ who immediately put me on IV vancomyacin. The normal protocol is 3 months but I would get worse when taken off, so she left me on it for 9 months, at which point my IV line plugged up with something that looked like crystals....I was very concerned because that drug was being pumped directly into my heart. I did get better for awhile after coming off the IV. It is now 15 years later and I am having all kinds of issues in my body, but unfortunately when tests are run, nothing shows up. To me lyme is a silent killer. No one believes you when you complain of heart pains, stomach pains, muscle pain, cold sweats every night, tremors, anxiety, extreme fatigue, insomnia, memory loss, mood swings, head pain and blurred vision not to mention all the damage the disease does to your organs. For the most part, in the beginning, I didn't look sick. Now I do. I have had to take early retirement and have filed for disabilty as I am too sick to work. The only people in the Medical Field that know what we are going thru are those who also have the disease themselves. I personally believe that it is germ warfare and produced on an island between New York City and Lyme Connecticut. There is evidence to support this comment. What other illness can you think of where the doctor's very license is treated for treating lyme patients. Even Aids and HIV patients can get help and funding goes into research. We are fighting a political disease.
