Re: “November madness (in October)

I am sure many of you, as children, read the Dr. Suess book Horton Hears a Who. It's basis is the theme that "a person's a person, no matter how small." It is with this in mind that I wish to write to you about the truth that a person IS a person, no matter how small and to bring truth and dissolve myths, no, outright lies, surrounding Amendment 48, AKA the Personhood Amendment. I have seen in numerous places, namely liberal newspapers such as The Independent, Planned Parenthood and it's cohorts, and even KRDO.com, if you can believe it, describe Amendment 48 as the Amendment that would end all forms of birth control, namely the pill, the shot, or an IUD. LIE! Let me clear this up for those of you who sit and wonder what the truth is. Amendment 48 will take the word "person" in the Colorado state constitution and legally and officially define it as "the moment of fertilization." This way we are acknowledging that which science has been telling us forever: that life begins at the moment of fertilization, considering that instantly the baby has it's own DNA. This will in no way affect a woman's right to contraception, especially considering some women are on the pill for hormone therapy. There is no way to know if a pregnancy was achieved while on these BC forms, so we would have no proof that a forced miscarriage took place if it, in fact, did take place. So- BC- SAFE! And another thing. This is not overturning Roe v. Wade. November 4th, Amendment 48 passes, November 5th a woman can still make the choice to go and have an abortion. This Amendment is important for those who are pro-life, pro-choice, and pro-abortion. California passed a similar bill when they passed Conner's Law stating that if a woman is murdered while pregnant, the muderer will be charged with double homicide, thereby acknowledging the personhood of the unborn baby. The fear-mongers against 48 say, "It goes too far!" hoping that will be the catch phrase that goes through your mind in the voting booth, forcing you to vote, "No", but let me encourage you that this is a scientifically backed bill, supported by MANY, that simply gives rights to the unborn and futher encourages a civilized society. Afterall, who wouldn't want that? So, on November 4th, vote yes on 48 because afterall, a person's a person, no matter how small!
