Re: “CannaBiz

This is to all the people who think of marijuana is a "bad drug". I believe medical marijuana is of great benefit to many people. I do not use it myself because I do not have chronic pain or other chronic medical issues. I work as a nurse in an emergency department. Many of my patients use medical marijuana, with great results, for issues such as chronic pain and chronic nausea. But there are many more patients that can benefit from it. In my opinion, medical marijuana is not easy enough to get for those patients, especially the ones on a fixed income. These patients use highly addictive narcotics. People with chronic pain build up a tolerance to these medications, therefore needing more of the drug or stronger narcotics. This leads to overdoses, at times, which often lead to death. In my 20 years as a nurse I have never seen a patient overdose and/or die from the use of marijuana. But I have lost count on the numerous people that have died from prescription narcotics because they could not get control of there pain. I have also had patients tell me they wish God would let them die because they can not find any type of medication to help them. I would like to see more Physicians prescribing medical marijuana for their patients, rather than narcotics.
