Re: “Winding up to blows

In the last paragraph, Clipper promises to go elsewhere "if the people don't want it." That's not true. Many of us in Garrett County, Maryland don't want industrial wind farms. Hundreds showed up to speak against this scam technology that will harm our economy and our natural resources. Yet Clipper is fighting, even downscaling their planned wind complex in western MD, in order to build a wind farm that is extremely controversial. Many people are asking for environmental assessments (it will impact water resources, bird migration, health of people and animals, etc) as well as evidentiary hearings that there really are jobs and other economic benefits... neither is required because the state of MD has fast tracked wind energy companies through the Public Service Commission's hearing processes. The facts: Elsewhere in the US wind companies have hired outsiders from as far away as Denmark, to build and staff facilities. They get tax breaks. They don't pay taxes because wind farms can never make enough money above and beyond that which they are NOT taxed on. Beware, Colorado Springs. Start early and do your homework.
