Re: “No more homework

This is such a sad situation. First of all CPP's plan was always going to have oversight because we were partnering with the City. Funds were not going to just be given to us; we didn’t expect or want that.
I was not going to profit from the city funding .The ED pay was taken out of the first plan written by Green Play because I believed that wasn’t the city responsibility. I never wanted to or needed to run the community centers that was never the plan. This was not supposed to be a contest, but some people tried to turn it into one. The city asks for a plan and we gave them one, bottom line. Instead of this being citizens offering help, this turned into a one sided cluster.
It is so easy to forget that the centers stayed open at the beginning of the year because of Sean Paige. Sean called for the forms at each center that started the task force, but like so many of us that doesn’t matter when it comes down to personal agendas. " No More Homework" Really!
This situation was started years ago, not by the Community, City Employee's, the Broadmore Church, West Side, or CPP. It was started by a lack of governing from our City Council. I nor CPP will be upset if we do not get the centers as long as they stay open THAT WAS THE GOAL FROM THE BEGINNING.
It is always interesting listen to people talk about where they think their tax dollars are going. Where have these caring people been for the last 10 months? I would hope they have educated themselves on this situation from the beginning.
Bullying is when an article is written about you and you DO NOT have the opportunity to respond because the paper won’t print it. I’m still waiting Independent.
I challenge all of you to us this energy to make sure this situation does not happen again (Next year).

CPP will continue to work on revitalizing the community now and in the future.
