Re: “El Paso County needs a needle exchange

Well dude; there are plenty of needles to be picked up in and around a lot of the cities parks; go at it; lead the way.

Re: “A 50-year Trekkie bestows Star Trek history upon the next generation: How fandom and fanfiction sparked the galaxy’s most controversial romance

I'm missing the 'big wow!' factor of the geh fanfiction. Did we all miss something for the last 50 years; or is this like some dying gasp of the past, still trying to get traction? #boring

Re: “John Suthers reflects on first term as mayor, sets a new agenda and eyes a second term

Gonna give the guy a solid to mid B+. Maybe an A-.

The rapid capitalization of the city is duressing a great many long time renters that are just not in positions to keep up with it. Traditional job skill market type of work (we are in an ~old school traditional city) just can't go to the next similar employer and get a 20% pay bump; and reschooling might not be the thing for a lot of 35 or 45+ aged people.

These solid core people should not be being forced to destabilize their families and childrens social networks just because an owner 'can' raise the rent 20% in a year; on a residence that they very possibly inherited or have already paid off. That is not our city.

The chronic want to be homeless and live with no responsibility crowd is becoming a minor mob at times. Yes. Our paths are simply Not where we would want our kids playing anymore; and if the denizens of the outdoors can't police themselves; well. Society will. No reason to be leaving a hypodermic syringe *anywhere*. No reason for leaving the debris and trash either. Colorado. Pack it in; pack it out. I personally H8 what the bad campers are doing to our environment.

I see the expansion and rapid economy; all nice things for growth. A lot of us aren't here and/or did not move here to be a part of the economy going bonkers in an upward direction. Modernizing it all is a good thing. Too much rapid capital, growth, expansion, ; our once small sleepy boring yawnworthy city might not make it.

A stream of Electric buses for the Garden of the Gods would be a real 21st century win; especially with the solar field right next to it all.

Engineering feat of the decade if Pueblo can make the steel for the Cog. Did Colorado forget how to mine and forge?

Thanks for being an active and engaged Mayor.

Re: “Colorado Sports and Events Center stadium, arena to host Switchbacks, Colorado College hockey downtown

I'd pay real money to see some Gladiator games. Plenty of transients around for the lions too.
Get caught using our outdoors as a bathroom? Trip to the games.
Campsite surrounded with hypodermic needles and five gallon buckets of feces? Trip to the games.
Rob, assault, steal or threaten a citizen? Trip to the games.

This stadium can be used in many ways. For the improvement of the downtown area.

Re: “Homelessness meeting to convene businesses and stakeholders

The trash and the polluting of our outdoors areas are the problems.

Whatever it takes to restore our downtown; and the runs streams and creeks that flow around it; is going to be what it takes.

As it is now; trash everywhere, and God only knows what becomes of the communities downstream of all the human waste and debris that is washing and flowing downstream.

Re: “Reader: Stop condoning creekside campers

It's the trash and the waterway contamination.

If these people could collectively keep the area clean; nobody would care where they live.

Until the 'Homeless camp : Trash everywhere' pattern changes; well duh.

Re: “City Council approves creekside camping ban in initial vote

How can anybody justify that pile of filth?

But; homeless!!!

That is not Colorado Springs faith, thinking, charity, work ethic, or anything other than the failure of people to simply clean up after themselves. Somehow; they can drag all that crap to a 'campsite', and then leave it there.

Or in the case of a five gallon bucket full of feces and urine; dump it into the streams, creeks, and waterways of Colorado.
