Re: “This is happening

Stephanie,

Unless you yourself have taken the time to analyze the temperature data (NCDC / GHCN) vs. taking the words of those behind the claimed Global Warming; then you have no grounds/qualifications to be perpetuating their claim. Why you ask? Because the recorded temperature data is the primary key to the claim of Global Warming.

One thing becomes very clear from spending months personally analyzing the temperature data. Those behind the GHCN database have been cherry-picking weather stations to create results to backup the claimed Global Warming. Upon analysis one finds that an increasing number of weather stations in colder areas' (closer to the poles and at higher altitudes) temperatures are not entered into the GHCN database as time progresses, except for 2009 when some weather stations were added to compensate for the obvious missing records.

For example there are 5,385 weather stations data entries for the year 1980. The number drops to 3,273 for 1990. Followed by a drop to 1,134 for 1995. The number then drops to 1,071 for the year 2000, and remains close to that number till 2005.

Where upon the number of weather station data entries drops to 211 for 2006. In 2008 the number drops down to a mere 57 weather stations with temperature data being entered. For 2009, the number of weather stations' records entered does go back up to 239.

Even if one were to ignore the issue of the cherry-picking (dumping colder weather station records in favor of warmer records), the fact that there is such a drastic change in the number of weather station data records from a high of 5,385 down to a low of 57 in less than three decades makes any claims as to global temperatures increasing, unscientific. The issue is there is no reliable continuity of weather station records.

Two further pieces of vital information. One being, that from the raw weather station temperature data records, those behind the database create another database that contains their suggested "adjusted" temperature records. How the adjustments are done can have a significant effect on the supposed annual global temperatures.
The other being that a super majority (69%) of U.S. weather stations (948 out 1221 surveyed) have temperature data that is inaccurate, in that their recordings are off by two (or more) degrees Celsius {see http://www.surfacestations.org}(based on NOAA/NCDC reference guide).
