As recently noted, Studio A64 ceased accepting remuneration for cannabis, and opened a CBD-centric hemp café. CBD doesn’t have THC’s psychoactive effects, and holds reported medicinal properties like pain relief. You get around 30 milligrams in either powder form (for food) or glycerin drops (for drinks) for $5. Hungry for lunch, we’re bummed not to find the wider menu we first reported on, instead seeing only sweets and drinks (more later, they say). So we get a strawberry chocolate cheesecake crepe ($6) seared a bit thick, and stuffed with sappy sweetness. We don’t taste the CBD or feel any chill-out effect. A mocha ($4), made with Denver-based Boyer’s coffee, shows surprisingly decent given a home-style espresso machine. We do taste the liquid CBD, a nice hemp oil flavor. Sugar offsets any anti-inflammation benefit, leading us to think OHC could play healthier with more items like its hempseed granola.
