Re: “Norton takes in $816K in quarter

(CENTENNIAL, CO) – US Senate candidate Jane Norton today announced a quarter-to-quarter fundraising increase of 48% for the first quarter of 2010, adding $816,000 to the one million dollars raised in 2009 after her September entry into the race.

To date, Norton has raised nearly $1.9 million, far and away the most of any Republican vying for the seat. Norton’s fundraising prowess is augmented by endorsements from virtually all of Colorado’s conservative leaders, including Senators Hank Brown and Bill Armstrong, state Senate Minority Leader Josh Penry, Mesa County Commissioner Janet Rowland, and Attorney General John Suthers.

After earning more than 9,600 grassroots votes at caucuses, Norton has proven to be the only conservative candidate with the ability to parlay grassroots support into a strong campaign war chest. All told, 83% of Norton’s 4,560 individual donors reside in Colorado.

“From day one my focus in this race has been on the issues and on appointed Senator Michael Bennet, and it has proven to be a message that resonates with Coloradans,” commented Norton. “I would like to thank the thousands of citizens who participated in the caucus process for their enthusiasm and for their financial support as we continue the march to November.

“But even more significant, I sincerely appreciate the thoughts and prayers of so many people from across the state following the passing of my father, Walter “Bus” Bergman. He was a tremendous inspiration in my life, and the outpouring of support we received last week was a testament to the man he was and the life he lived.”

Re: “Letters

I am and an extremely huge group of people I have known over a lifetime, living in numerous geographic parts of CO, are also part of "We the People". We are united behind two documents: the Constitution of the United States of America and Constitution of Colorado. Additionally, we are solidly united as CO citizens in having repeatedly invited Jane Norton to become a candidate for U.S. Senator. As CO citizens, we are grateful she accepted our invitation at this time. Jane Norton, a lifetime CO resident, is definitely the one solidly qualified candidate who We the People are fortunate to have to represent us as U.S. Senator.
