Re: “St. Paddy's Day Two off the hook

I am the Elizabeth in the article and I would like to make a statement. I have never in the past, not now, nor in the future wanted to sue any individual involved with the parade nor the City of Colorado Springs. This includes the city, the city council, the police department, any individual police officer and last but not least the organizer of the parade, his family nor his associates. As a peace activist I believe in negotiation with people who disagree with me in thoughts, words and actions. I do not believe in suing over these things. I would not sue this city because I live here, I call this city home and living here means a lot to me. Why would I want to do anything to harm it? I do have to say some of the spokespeople have made it hard for me to always stay with these thoughts. It is not my belief nor will it ever be my belief that every police officer at the parade acted in a professional and safe manner. I can look at the vast majority who did and praise them for their behavior and the manner in which they performed their duties that day. But their behavior only lets the poor, unprofessional and dangerous behavior of the two officers standout even more. I worry about the safety of other police officers who might work with these men and for the safety of the mentally ill street people who might run into theses officers and are not mentally able to follow their directions. At first this bothered me very much but since the parade I have decided that if fellow police officers do not care about this behavior, then why should I? I can't do anything about it anyway,..... that is unless we all sit down together and try to work it all out for the betterment of the City of Colorado Springs. Peacemaker
