Peanut butter and honey ice cream wows in a pretzel cone at Sweet Cow

This is one of six Denver/Boulder-area Sweet Cow locations and it’s abundantly clear to us after we try this ice cream for our first time why the business deserves to multiply fruitfully. While waiting in line near some grab-and-go coolers, we’re ensnared by an Ozo Coffee ice cream sandwich made with awesome triple chocolate cookies, including white chocolate chips.

The spartan, drip-brewed coffee flavor carries the bold cacao notes through to the finale. Then we spy a pretzel cone, wondering at once why these aren’t more common and which flavor might work best in it. A staffer confirms our suspicion that Myranda’s Peanut Butter Honey flavor picks up the cone’s saltiness nicely  and soon we’re in a land of bliss, enjoying the perfect balance between those two flavors — a creamy nuttiness and general wildflower honey note that’s faintly floral through the vanilla body.

Licking up the cone towards the ice cream coats the tongue in a thin salt veneer and the whole affair’s just brilliant. Bouncy cow toys staged in a turf area lure us in like children.
