Based on the Norwegian fairy tale, this production includes Brahms' "Nänie," and Grieg's "Incidental Music to Peer Gynt" performed by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, with choral contribution from the Colorado Springs Chorale.

The story of this troll-hunting, maiden-saving Norwegian hunter (made most famous through the 1867 play by Henrik Ibsen) has been newly translated and features full narration.

The program also features a special world premiere: Enchanted Landscapes: A Symphonic Poem by local composer Ofer Ben-Amots.

March 18, 7:30-9:30 p.m. and March 19, 2:30-4:30 p.m., Pikes Peak Center, 190 S. Cascade Ave., tickets start at $21, csphilharmonic.org.
