One of the things I enjoy the most about photographing weddings is witnessing the love and joy really happy people get to experience on their wedding day.

My clients comes from all walks of life — doctors, lawyers, designers, engineers, soldiers, etc.

I get to learn the stories of how they met. It might be a happy accident, bumping into each other at a Halloween party, or it might be more purposeful, like meeting each other through an online dating site.

Many of them come from other states to be married in Colorado. They want to be married in a place that inspires them like a mountaintop, a jaw-dropping vista, or a beautifully manicured garden.

I get to share this experience with their family and friends, many of whom have never been to a place as beautiful as Colorado. At least that’s what they tell me.

I’m lucky because the couples I photograph inspire me, too. They always share a hopeful outlook. Their energy and creativity invigorates me to do my best and tell their story faithfully.

This year was a particularly good one. I’m winding down my season having photographed more than 35 weddings at locations both big and small including The Broadmoor, Garden of the Gods Club, Keystone Resort, Hillside Gardens and the El Paso County Courthouse.

I’m lucky and humbled that I get to do this for a living. A special thanks to all of the couples who trusted me to tell their story.
