Robert P. “Bob” Easterly, the co-author of By an Act of Congress will present a program about the life of Lewis Easterly. Lewis followed his cousin to Colorado from Illinois in 1878 and initially taught school at the Pring or Borstville School near Monument. He also taught at the Rich Valley, Pratt and Spring Hill Schools in Douglas County before homesteading in Gunnison County. Lewis and his cousin James Porter Easterly lived and worked in El Paso County in the early days.
