In the great spirit of bands getting together to help each other out in times of need, Marcea Flowers (resident queen of benefit organizers) has thrown together a benefit for the members of Laymen Terms and their manager Marc Peralta, whose home was recently damaged in a fire. A veritable Colorado Springs music fest, the two nights of shows at H.W. Briggs will feature (among others) Against Tomorrow's Sky, Betting on the Muse, The Mansfields and Who'z Your Daddy on Friday and Autokiniton, The Great Redneck Hope, Iron Kind, and Idiolectic Conception on Saturday. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Marc and the band.

Got a live music event Indy readers should know about?

Send us your information -- including the name of the band/musician, where they're playing and when (include day, date & time), how much it'll cost and a contact phone number -- by Thursday for the following week's paper. Many venues and bands send us a month's worth of information (or more) at a time, which we appreciate greatly, but don't require. If we don't receive confirmation of your ongoing events on a monthly basis, they will not run. Send info to: livemusic@csindy.com, mail to the Independent, Attn. Playing Around, or fax to 577-4107, Attn. Playing Around. Questions? Call 577-4545.
