Playing Around: Johnny and the Jukes

Some bands are perfect for the patio while you sip on drinks with names like "The Emerald Yeti," "Priscilla, Queen of the Springs," "Fozzy Osbourne" and "The Ninja Turtle-tini," snack on tapas and slide off into the sunset. One of those bands would be Johnny and the Jukes, who happen to be playing just such a patio this Tuesday night at Sencha. With a sound that walks the tightrope between smooth jazz and zydeco, you'll be able to transport to patio mode without having to go fully Mardi Gras. Composed of John Wise on bass and vocals, Dave Deason on drums and washboard, Brad Eastin on sax and Tim Zahn on piano, accordion and vocals, this crew mixes up a musical gumbo a la Rocky Mountains that will be sure to shake off the post-work jitters.
