Cerulean City
Tres Hombres, 116-1/2 W. Midland Ave., Woodland Park
Fri., Jan. 9 at 9 p.m.
No cover, 687-0625

Well, by now you've heard the stories about Darby Howard -- former co-owner of Tres Hombres in Woodland Park -- who split town under a cloud of suspicion. Then there was the nasty note on the marquis ("GOOD RIDDANCE DARBY"). Now that he's gone, the unofficial boycott of the venue has been lifted, and Dan Moody, the new talent buyer, and owner, Sandy Ullom, are busy re-establishing ties to the local music community by hosting lots of great regional and national acts. Friday night's Cerulean City gig is as good a reason as any to re-patronize Tres Hombres. This Brooklyn-based fusion-funk band is making their second pass through Colorado Springs and has a new album, Trio-Grande, in tow. Chickity check it, boss.
