The Web site (www.thineeyesbleed.com) says it all: Every page is as black as Spinal Tap's so-called Black Album, spooky fonts glow, and blood appears on the links as you click them. And to top it off, Thine Eyes Bleed's PR company brands them as "Canadian metal warriors." How adorable!

But get this: they're on to something. Fresh from a tour in Tokyo, the group is hitting Colorado Springs before going on to play at music festival mecca South by Southwest. Thine Eyes Bleed combines the classic aspects of metal: a dark-but-sorta-funny name, black clothing, faster-than-fast guitar riffs, and pummel-you-silly drumming. Justin Wolfe (vocals) alternates between screams and guttural roars, while Jeff Phillips and David Newell vie for all the guitar attention. Johnny Araya (bass) gets a nod for being the brother of Tom Araya from Slayer, and Darryl Stephens (drums) brings the whole group together for a figurative musical bear hug. Check out the fab (but scary!) five when they appear at Classics.
