Been staying up nights since The Get Up Kids broke up four months ago? Put away the Ambien. Less than a month after TGUK played their last show, singer and guitarist Jim Suptic recorded a full-length album with Blackpool Lights, and he's been touring with them since. Suptic grabbed musicians from The Start, The Belles, Ultimate Fakebook and The Creature Comforts to create the new band. It's hard to tell, though, from the handful of songs they've released, in what direction they might be headed. "Maybe Just Maybe" sounds like a Hard Day's Night-inspired pop song, but "It's Never About What It's About" is definitely emo and could use a few hardcore screams. Catch their Black Sheep show and decide for yourself.
