I am an 82 years old retired electronics engineer born in Poland & survivor of over 5 years in the Lodz ghetto and German concentration camps, divorced for 30 years. My Sugarloaf Mtn. home burned in the 2010 4-Mile fire; I now live in North Boulder, write, walk, swim & play on beaches.

Re: “'I'm done with him'

The apparent fostering of a narrow sectarian religiosity within the US Air Force Academy (USAFA) is against the overall attitude within USAF to prevent such discrimination. Such a policy attempts to skirt United States Constitution's Wall of Separation of Church and State with a bureaucratic wink and a nod. It is also dangerous to the United States of America to have a religiously fractionated Armed Forces since that is the route to the religiously-based slaughter, such as in the previous Yugoslavian state!

USA is unusual among other states on the face of this Planet: its population contains hundreds of various religions, including the Dominionist Christian sect which is apparently being favored by the top staff of the USAFA. One member of the armed forces must depend on another one; this cannot be done when one member thinks of the Catholic religion of another as the "Great Whore", as a very pernicious example! Thus the USAFA's apparent policy of favoring a certain brand of Christianity goes directly against what must be its mission of providing a well-integrated USAF officer's corps.

I have experienced in my life during the Holocaust in Europe what I consider the result of a nation assuming that it is under the direct orders of its God. The German exterminationist Armed Forces proudly carried their belt buckle with the slogan "Gott Mit Uns!" (God is with us!) and were accompanied in their grisly tasks by very many Protestant and a few Catholic chaplains. I now live in the glorious country of freedom in United States and hope to keep it that way by keeping out religious discrimination within the Armed Forces of USA. I therefore strongly support the Military Religious Freedom Foundation and its founder Mikey Weinstein.
