Re: “Letters

Wow, I'm glad that "Somebody Important" Carol Krick, is gonna tell us what art is and what we should and shouldn't buy. I guess I'm not an artist, even though I first sold one of my paintings during World War II and have been selling, mostly to private patrons, enough paintings to live on, since about 1956. My paintings are sorta "amateur." And, goodness, I've given some paintings to some of the top rock music stars of the last fifty years. oops!

I have gotten together with artist's, now and then, on three different continents, to discuss art and I told my c\lients about it! I guess that's a bad thing.

This letter reminds me of the recent letter reproduced in "The Artist's Magazine" detailing what could and could not be shown in local art events. In that case, a women mentioned, among other limitations, that you couldn't paint anything that had been painted before - if it was famously painted. I guess, because ot the world-famed ancient cave paintings of France, I can't paint a horse. You can't paint anything that you haven't actually seen or photographed, yourself.

People, buy whatever art you like. Nobody should tell you what to like hanging on your walls!
