Work on extending Powers Boulevard to Interstate 25 will kick off next year, developer Gary Erickson told the Gazette. That leg, a 3/4-mile, two-lane road, will link I-25 with Voyager Parkway. It's unclear when the road would be built to finish the connection to Powers where it now dead ends at Highway 83.

Funding is coming from sales tax revenues at Polaris Pointe, anchored by Bass Pro Shops, being developed by Erickson. The site was declared an urban renewal area some years ago, enabling tax revenues to be directed toward the Powers extension project.
