Project Pabst Festival

When: May 20-21 2016

Yes, Budweiser really did announce last week that the company will be renaming its beer "America" this summer — just in time for Donald Trump to make us all great again. But when it comes to branding efforts, we're more enamored with the Project Pabst Festival, a Denver block party whose roster includes Best Coast, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Baroness, Charles Bradley and a reunited Violent Femmes. In addition to the Saturday outdoor lineup, there will be two nights of club shows, in various venues around town, headlined by the likes of Doomtree and Rocket From the Crypt. Other festival attractions include a mobile studio, where people will be able to record their own vinyl 45s, as well as limited-edition PBR "art cans" graced by a rampaging unicorn reminiscent of Blucifer, the demonic DIA stallion. Go ahead and try to top that, America! Friday and Saturday; visit denver.projectpabst.com for locations, times and prices. — Bill Forman
