Re: “The campaign for Amendments 60 and 61 and Prop 101 sounds bad, but it may just work

It's time to take a look around and see what your tax dollars are paying for. Do our local police really need all the new cars I see them driving around in, all the new high priced Chargers, Cameros, Marquis, SUV's and even Corvettes!!! I drive a 6 year old Yukon and pay way to much to get it registered every year, nearly 10 times what most other states pay. Are our roads 10 times better than other states, I don't think so. My son recenlty graduated high school and during the course of his senior year we paid nearly $1,000 in fees for his activities and athletics, is this the "free education" that our outragious taxes are paying for? Pouring more and more money into the budget is not the way to improve education. Having served 6 years on a school board, I know first hand that school budgets are out of control. There is far too much waste in administration and programs that cater to the select few, and rob from the majority of students. Having worked in health care for over 25 years, I know there is huge waste in government supported health care programs. It's time to hold government, federal, state and local accountable for their mismanagement and misuse of our hard earned dollars. We as taxpayers have to be accountable for our budgets, it's time to force our elected officials to do the same. To continue to feed this monster is ludicrous. The only way to stop it is to stop the flow of money. Vote YES on 60, 61 and 101.

It's time we taxpayers stand up for ourselves. To continually feed this monster our hard earned dollars is ludicrous to say the least. Of course there is bipartisan opposition to 60, 61 and 101, we have supplied their over-spending and mismanagement for too long. Take a look around, do we really need cops driving new cars all the time? I drive a 6 year old Yukon and pay way too much to get licence for it every year, over ten times what most other states pay. Thankfully my son just graduated high school, but we shelled out nearly $1,000 in fees for his school activities and athletics as a senior. Is this the "free" education that our outragious taxes are paying for? Better education doesn't come through more and more taxes, but that's what happens every year. It's time for government, state and local alike, to take responsibility for their spending. The only way for that to happen is to force them to live within a reasonable budget. I know schools can do the same. I served on a school board for 6 years and I know first hand there is too much waste and excess in the administration. We are living with less as taxpayers, it's time our governments do the same. Vote YES on 60, 61 and 101.
