Re: “Still screwed

First off I would like to respond to Old Soldiers following comment:
"You’re a bunch of Kool Aid drinkers. Do you know these Soldiers? Do you know if these issues are real or just guys who are trying to game the system? Unless you know them personally and know the facts, you should not believe everything you read everything from the Media. I served with two of these guys and their stories are not what is written."

I do know one of these brave soldiers. I have known him my whole life. I believe that the article is very well written and on point as far as his story goes and how his experience has gone with the WTU at Ft. Carson. His experience with the WTU has been nothing short of a joke. It sounds like you have a personal problem with "two of these guys" and cannot stand to have the truth be told. I know that it is embarrassing that our honorable, brave Veterans are treated this way, but hiding it from the public will not fix the problem.

Secondly; I work in health care, Physical Therapy to be exact and I have seen my fair share of wounded warriors. They are trying their hardest to get better but struggling. I will always do whatever I can to help them. I am happy when I see these soldiers come through the clinic I work in because it means that they are getting the attention they need. One on one physical therapy for one hour sessions, which you would be hard pressed to find in the Physical Therapy clinic at Fort Carson. They are herded through there like cattle with little to no personal attention. Then they are punished for not progressing and meeting the goals the WTU is setting...therefore forced into medical retirement or back to their units before they are ready. Yes they VOLUNTEERED for their jobs as soldiers and that is all the more reason that we should stand up for them and demand a solution to this problem.

Thank you to all our brave service members!! Thank you to the Soldiers who had the courage to stand up and give their stories!! Americans should always stand up for our men and women who put everything on the line to serve our great country.
