Re: “Focus on ... the Super Bowl

This so called "ad" (which is really an anti-abortion screed as well as an "issue ad") is about ready to go down the tubes. Focus thought they had CBS by the short ones, but we have started an email blast to ALL of CBS. Go to this link:

And start sending emails, telling them you will NOT stand for their peculiar brand of hatred during the Superbowl.

We have to live with them here in COS...the rest of the country does NOT need to be forced into watching their hatred against women.

Re: “Gender Blender

Anon...take your Christian bullying away from these boards. Referring to NAMBLA in your post just proves you are one of those anti-GLBT, Focus on the Family, NLC, perverted Rush/Hannity dittoheads. You'd be better off over on the Gazette comment boards where your hatred will find a lot of sympathy. You have been reported.

Nico, as the mother of a gay child, I know how hard it must be for you to live in this back-asswards city. You keep on keepin' on, Nico, and show the naysayers for what they are: hypocrites. You are loved, and I applaud you for doing this story with the Indy!

Re: “Ranger Rich: Life and death on TV news

I'm one up on you, Rich, as well as the story. During a period of time in my life when I had young children, I purchased three of those unfolding ladders you keep by a window in case of fire in a second-story bedroom: one for the 'rents, the others for the kids' rooms. Not too crazy, right? Well, at about the same time, I decided we all needed smoke masks (one use only) in case we were caught downstairs while watching Sesame Street. Still not too crazy, right? Then I thought about our dog. What about him? He's just as much a member of the family as the rest of us! So, yes, our Beagle got his own, modified smoke mask that I cobbled out of some medical supplies that just happened to be laying about the house. Ahem. Anyway, it worked great! He looked a little like Darth Vader but it fit nicely over his snout and Velcroed around his head. Fortunately, we never have had the misfortune to use them. Unfortunately, the six guinea pigs were going to have to be on their own, and I felt terrible about it, but I did keep a kennel close by in case we had time to rescue them, too. I'm proud of CSFD for their commitment to our pets.

On the other topic, Mr. Edwards doesn't need Neuticles...he's already been "altered." If you get my drift.

Re: “Seeing home, from afar

I'm a bit late on the comment for this article, but here's how I deal with the embarrassment and squirming when asked where I live. I usually just say, "The Springs," and hope people think I mean Steamboat, Pagosa, or Manitou. How sad for us, non?

Re: “Age takes its toll

Oh, hai. You think YOU have it bad? I was leaving Marigold's the other day and took a right instead of a left (as I usually do). I found myself unable to recognize just exactly where I was and, for a dismal second or two, didn't know which way to go to get back to 30th Street.

Ruined my whole day!
