In the discussion of diversity, the intersecting identities of marginalized groups and individuals are often overlooked or pigeonholed, and seldom given their deserved consideration. Friday, three organizations will come together to provide a platform for the powerful voices of queer people of color in our community. GLO Meetups, The Empowerment Solidarity Network and Hear Here Poetry will present a showcase of local, queer poets of color including Louie Guevara, Christina Savoy-Johnson and Valentina Kai, among others. Following their performance, stick around for a discussion about collective identity and intersectionality, with panelists Stoney Bertz, Jonathan Bataille and Kristina Wright.
