Re: “Reader: Thanks for passing your mistakes to my generation

It's true. There's gonna be a Huge deficit that me and my kid will have to eventually pay for. Also, the inherentance tax breaks will ensure that the wealthy of the future are born into it rather than actually work their butts off to build their own wealth (FYI the vast majority of rich people in the US inherited their wealth).

Re: “Reader: I want to live where people respect each other and the environment

The author is right, anyone can walk down Shooks Run and see how bad it is. It's not just McDonald's wrappers and big gulp cups, it's piles of clothing, feces, AND food wrappers. The homeless population here has grown exponentially over the past few years. 10 years ago you'd never see anyone camping in the parks. Now we have "resident" 20 somethings living in the local parks. It's hard to help someone who is openly smoking weed or going out of his way to intimidate women/elderly/disabled people, or who is stealing from my yard. I can't let my 11 year old daughter walk to the playground because of all of the creepy people who call Shooks Run park home. I've been threatened and accosted multiple times over the past few years.

Re: “Reader: Incline traffic is out of control on Barr Trail

The trail is open to everyone, not just you Carl; mountain bikers, Incline users, and hikers. There are plenty of other places you can go with less traffic.

Re: “Cyclists say their lives are at risk from road-raging motorists

Mr. Severson, a little colorado bicycle law for you AND the cycling dicks:

When to take a lane"A bicyclist may take the travel lane where traffic is slow and the lane is narrow, there is no shoulder or bike lane, when approaching an intersection, or if you are moving at the same speed as the flow of traffic. Moving to the center of the lane establishes your position and prevents motorists from passing until there’s enough room."
