For those of you who miss the third and least celebrated phase of Van Halen, a light now shines down from the heavens. Extreme, the band whose lead vocalist Gary Cherone stepped in for Sammy Hagar, is back together and butt-rocking the Ogden Theatre (935 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, at 7:30 tonight. Best known for their #1 acoustic ballad "More Than Words," which was subsequently crooned by Mike Myers in The Love Guru, Extreme more typically serves up radio-friendly rock that's at least half a step above generic. Tourmates Ratt ratchet up the nostalgia with snarly vocals, dueling leads and their '80s staple, "Round and Round." Tickets are $29.75 to $35 and you must be 16 or over. As if you wouldn't be. — Bill Forman
